It started as a cocktail conversation between two families, the Ponaks & the Southcotts, on Hornby Island and their shared desire to connect people to where their food comes from.

We wanted it simple, easy and direct. And it had to be healthy, sustainable, and support our communities.

Our love of fresh, high quality seafood brought us to Mitch Ponak. A commercial fisherman since 1975, Mitch is deeply respected for his commitment to sustainable fishing practices, and for being an advocate for fishermen safety.

We’ve worked with Mitch’s team and our community partners to bring the joy of delicious seafood directly to you.

TUNA CAUGHT BY THE PACHENA NO.1

Off the coasts of Haida Gwaii and Oregon, our sashimi grade tuna is frozen at –50°C within minutes of being caught. Portioned while frozen, so when you bring it home to enjoy, it’s like it’s fresh out of the water!

The catch? There’s no catch! Ocean Wise recommended, mercury-tested, pre-portioned loins and poke to make your meal prep easy.
